Viscose, Brodie, and Montez Press Radio will host a unique May Day event at O—Overgaden’s O—rooOOOooOOoOooom, marking the global launch of Viscose Journal 08: SOUND. Taking its cue from an archival snippet from the cult 1990s raver magazine Project X, the event celebrates the deep histories and contemporary brilliance of women in sound.

On 1 May, O—Overgaden’s O— rooOOOooOOoOooom will be transformed into a scarlet-lit salon where print, live performance, and radio fuse into a compelling intermedia cocktail celebrating sound workers everywhere. Arrive early to learn, listen, and secure your copy of Viscose Journal—or tune in online from 19:30 Copenhagen time.

Viscose is a research institute and publishing house broadly concerned with the advancement of fashion knowledge. Viscose Journal was launched in 2021 as a genre-defying and ad-free periodical for fashion, research, and has since released issues in partnerships with museums and cultural institutions globally, including X Museum in Beijing and Leslie-Lohman Museum in New York City.

Brodie is an independent and non-commercial music platform. With Copenhagen as its home, Brodie creates and hosts intimate live sessions with international artists in unique architectural spaces, strongly emphasizing the blending of artistic disciplines in the crafting of special musical moments that spark new dialogues, meanings, and feelings.

Montez Press Radio (MPR) is a New York-based internet radio station, performance space, and non-profit arts organization. Founded in 2019, the platform invites different corners of the art world to interact with each other in person and on air—where media finally meets flesh. MPR is drawn to art that exists in the unexpected, the authenticity of sharing without a script, the sounds of ideas in the making, conversation that forgets there’s an audience.
