The Obel Family Foundation awards generous three-year support grant to O—Overgaden

O—Overgaden is proud to announce that The Obel Family Foundation has awarded a grant of 2.7 million Danish Kroner for the upcoming three years of the exhibition program (2024–2026).

We are grateful and humbled by the trust shown by The Obel Family Foundation, both toward our exhibition program and future developments of O—Overgaden. The Obel Family Foundation has historically been a core supporter of O—Overgaden’s function as a platform for new artistic practices and experimentation, and so it is with great joy that we are again collaborating with The Obel Family Foundation on building a resourceful framework around the emerging contemporary art scene through the 900 000 DKK grant for 2024, 2025, and 2026.

For almost 40 years, as one of the few established art institutions in Denmark, O—Overgaden has been dedicated to providing emerging artists from all regions the possibility to experiment, develop, and unfold their ideas and practice on a grand scale, producing what, for most, would be the first major institutional solo show. Previous exhibiting artists include Olafur Eliasson, Kirsten Justesen, Pia Arke, Adam Christensen, and Lea Porsager. And the interest is only growing: O—Overgaden’s most recent Open Call attracted more than 550 artists’ applications.

The generous grant from The Obel Family Foundation will support our continuous work in developing high-level artistic output at O—Overgaden.
